The Wildcat Story

As the petroleum industry grew in the late 1800s across parts of the United States, some brave businessmen sought to discover new oil wells in untapped territories. Referred to as “wildcatters”, a few of these daring businessmen discovered new oil wells and ultimately challenged some of the major oil companies of their time. With the same drive and entrepreneurial spirit as these early “wildcatters”, Rick and Christa Stroud founded Wildcat Petroleum Service Company in 1994. The tenacity, work ethic, and commitment to customer service they started the company with remain the heartbeat of the business to this day.

Since its inception, Wildcat Petroleum Service has grown to become a leading petroleum service company in the greater Charlotte region and the Carolinas. Today, Wildcat Petroleum Service is an Authorized Service Contractor for Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Verifone and holds a variety of distributorships. We service some of the largest oil and petroleum distribution and convenience store companies in the greater Charlotte market, yet we pride ourselves in providing the same level of quality service to each and every customer. Despite the rapid changes that occur in the petroleum industry, we have remained a leader in the field because of our dual commitment to education and customer responsiveness. As the Wildcat family has expanded, so too has the commitment to our core foundational principle: service to our customers.
